Consumers often face restrictions on access to and use of content offered online, which are enforced in end-user license agreements. These restrictions can conflict with consumer interests protected by EU consumer law. This book assesses the unresolved relationship between EU copyright and consumer law by reviewing the legal provisions governing the supply of digital content, including the new Digital Content and Digital Services Directive and the Copyright in the Digital Single Market Directive, as well as relevant case law of the ECJ for the assessment of fundamental rights conflicts in connection with copyright restrictions on use.
