¿Por qué es hoy en día tan importante la función educativa de los padres? Este libro trata de dar cumplida contestación a esta pregunta trascendental. Si siempre la función de los padres (padre y madre) ha sido esencial, lo es más en nuestros tiempos.
Los progenitores cumplen una función primordial en el desarrollo de la personalidad de sus hijos. Una tarea educativa que ha de ser eminentemente en valores para que el día de mañana sean unas personas que aporten a la sociedad lo mejor de sí mismas.
El libro aborda una candente cuestión: orientar a padres y madres en esta difícil tarea. Tiene dos grandes partes. La primera, establece el marco general de la importancia de esta labor. La segunda, da las pautas para la creación de una Escuela de Padres y Madres.
No basta a padres y madres el tener una buena voluntad. Hoy, se les exige una cierta preparación técnica, tanto en valores humanos como en aspectos específicos de índole «instructiva.
Los padres no son pedagogos, pero pueden tener una base sólida para su labor. La presente obra pretende proporcionar esa base necesaria. No olvidemos que la familia, los progenitores, los padres y madres son una pieza clave de la mejora de la sociedad. Una obra imprescindible dentro de la pedagogía familiar.
