The Academic Chair on Development and Poverty Eradication is a joint initiative between the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Fund (SDG Fund) and the Rey Juan Carlos University. Its objective is to promote the engagement of universities around the world in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through training, advocacy and research activities.
The research of academics how to achieve the 2030 Agenda is certainly a useful tool to promote international debate and raise awareness among national governments, international organizations, academia, civil societies and the private sector that joint actions are needed to eradicate poverty. Poverty eradication is the basic and primary objective of the international community to achieve the three dimensions of sustainable development: social, environmental and economic.
