In a collaborative effort that involves aviation experts from Norway,
The Netherlands, Sweden and England, this series of books has been under development since 1994. Initially under national arrangements but since 1999 in full compliance with JAA requirements. Originally published as a set ot notes that were used by several Flight Training Organisations in Europe, ¡t has now finally been produced in these high quality volumes. Combined, the 15 books contain more than 3000 full colour illustrations. The series is based on the JAR-FCL Learning Objectives, and the material is arranged systematically to produce a Progressive programme of instruction which can be used either for self-study or in a class-room environment. Student self-assesment tests are ¡ncluded in most chapters.
Nordian was initially established by the Norwegian Government in 1989 as a National Flight Academy and later as the National Institute of Civil Aviation, a recognised carrier of Norwegian aviation expertise.
The main activities of Nordian now inelude development of modern training material and training systems, distance learning management and consultancy Services within all fields of aviation training.
The Center for Civil Aviation of London Metropolitan University,
(previously London Guildhall University), evolved in 1970, with the establishment of the City of London Polytechnic. The university itself traces it’s roots back to the City of London College, which was formed in 1851. To date upwards of 3000 pilots have been trained in both theoretical and synthetic flight training. London Metropolitan University is one of the foremost providers of undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and vocational education and training in Britain.
